The design for this scarf is inspired by the sumptuous colors in The Choice Between Virtue and Vice, by the sixteenth-century Italian painter Veronese.

The painting depicts a man dressed in pure white encountering two fashionably dressed women representing Virtue and Vice. They are vying for his allegiance—will he choose a path of pleasure or one of honor? The brilliance of Veronese’s colors, his vivid rendering of materials, and the clarity of his compositions made the painter a favorite of imperial and royal collectors such as Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II and Queen Christina of Sweden.
