Lady Sarah Innes Rose Brooch

Inspired by Thomas Gainsborough's Sarah Hodges, Later Lady Innes, painted in 1757. This exquisite handcrafted gold brooch is modeled after the delicate pink rose held by Lady Innes and is transformed into a sculptural work of wearable art.

The brooch is carefully handcrafted using goldsmithing techniques in a palette of specifically alloyed gold: warm 22-karat apricot gold forms the rose petals, while 22-karat yellow gold creates the leaves. An 18-karat green gold stem and pin complete the botanical composition, creating subtle variations in color and texture that echo the natural character of the painted flower.

Through Distefano's meticulous interpretation, a fleeting detail from Gainsborough's portrait is lifted off the canvas and transformed into a finely crafted jewel.
