Eittem for the Frick
Eittem for The Frick Collection brings a contemporary New York atelier into dialogue with historic craftsmanship, united by shared material. The collection responds to the mantelpiece carvings created by Abraham Miller in 1914 in the style of Grinling Gibbons for the walnut-paneled bedroom of Henry Clay Frick. Now known as the Walnut Room, the second-floor private quarters opened to the public for the first time in 2025 following the mansion’s five-year renovation.
Across the collection, Eittem’s engagement with archetypal forms from nature finds a meaningful counterpart in the botanical language of Miller’s carvings. The resulting works are conceived as a tribute to his artistry, to the material intelligence of the Walnut Room, and to the enduring presence of the maker’s hand.
